La Ventana

Freedom Crew in La Ventana, BCS, Mexico

NATHAN’S PERSPECTIVE

In February of this year, the entire Freedom Foil Boards (FFB) crew and I headed to La Ventana, Mexico for some Winter testing of our 2022/23 product line and some testing of new concepts. The goal for this trip was to collect some quality shots and finalize some exciting product designs all while having a good time and bringing the international team together. The Freedom team is spread across the globe… me being from the UK and the other crew members sprawled all over the US, from Florida to Hawaii. This trip was a great opportunity to all get together over a beer (or beers) on the beach.

After multiple flights and many hours of travel for some (37 hours in
total for me), we all arrived at Villa Paraiso, our base for the week. As we arrived late at night, we had no real idea of our location but were pleasantly surprised when the sun rose to reveal a beautiful bay and wind swells rolling through in the distance… we all knew it was going to be an epic week.

The first few days of the trip were spent testing our full quiver of gear
as much as possible. All the boards, including our new prototype models,
surpassed expectations, in both performance and design. This time was also spent trying out some new concepts that we hope to bring to you soon. CAD design is not enough for us at Freedom, all our boards are rigorously tested by our team to ensure nothing is ever missed and we create the best possible product. It’s a tough job testing in Mexico, but someone has got to do it…

As well as testing all our products, we enlisted the help of Dane from Salty Brother for the second half of the trip to create some high-quality video edits and board promos. The results are great and can be found on our Instagram and on our YouTube channel.

Thank you to all that made this valuable trip possible. At Freedom, we are all eager to continue to share our products with the world and release some exciting new designs and concepts in the year to come.
